Have a desire to write and publish a children’s book?
Not sure where to begin?

Welcome to ‘Publishing A Kids Book 101’!

Saturday November 13, 2021
10:00am PST / 1:00 EST / 18:30 GMT

In this 90 minute interactive virtual class, you will learn my '10 steps to self-publishing'.
These steps will set the foundation for writing your children's book right through to putting it into print!
You will also gain insight on what to consider when hiring an editor, illustrator and marketing your book.
I'll answer any questions you have and show you how to get your book into print without breaking the bank.
Although this workshop is designed for those wishing to become children's authors, the step-by-step process
is similar for any self-published book.
Here’s what I’ve learned and want to teach you, step by step:
  • How to put your ideas onto paper (let go of the fear of the blank page!)
  • Where to find an editor (for a reasonable price)
  • How to find an illustrator (there are tons) or how to do it yourself
  • How to set-up and register your publishing company (it’s so easy!)
  • How to get an ISBN number to make your book legit! (it’s free and simple)
  • Who to contact for writing, marketing and coaching advice
  • Where to publish your book on demand (you don’t want a box in your basement collecting dust)
  • Software to help with the creation, design and marketing (that's free or reasonably priced)
  • BONUS: The strategies and outline I used to write my adult health book! (once you write a children's book, you just might be inspired to write other books)

I can tell you from experience that it’s not as scary and overwhelming as you might think. I put off my dream of publishing a book for years. Then, one day I woke up and decided that if I didn’t do it now, I would still be talking about doing it years to come. You will not regret the decision of putting your story and your ideas into print. No author ever said, 'I wish I wouldn't have published my book.'

Whether you are doing this as a passion project like me, or this is something you hope to do as a full time gig, it is like nothing you have ever experienced. To see my book in the local bookstore, at the airport gift shop, to gift my book to friends and family, and to see my author profile on Amazon, woke me up to what is possible.

Leave a legacy that children for generations to come can be inspired by and learn from!
The week I launched my first book, Sky Rider, it cracked the Top 10 in Children's Lit on Amazon (in excellent company with Dr. Seuss, Robert Munsch, and J.K. Rowling!!), and made it to #1 in their "Movers & Shakers" category!

I had so many people reach out to me to both congratulate and tell me they have wanted to do the same thing but weren’t sure how.

Although publishing is not my area of expertise, writing, marketing and getting connected to the right people is! I've now published 4 children's books and 1 adult health book. Becoming a published author is kinda like getting a tattoo...once you get one you almost always want more!

I would love to share what I've learned with you so you too can live out your dream, check the item off the bucket list, and feel so dang proud.

The best part about the entire process is seeing and holding your book in your hand. Nothing beats how awesome and accomplished you will feel.

If you cannot attend this workshop live, the replay will be emailed to you the following day!
About Kristy Ware

As a kid I didn’t sit still long enough to foster a connection to reading and it was not something my parents encouraged me to do. I spent most of my free time on bike or playing sports with my friends. I had no idea what I was missing until my late 20's when I began to change my ways (thanks to my wife Flora). Truth be told, I now cannot imagine my life without books.

I read my son his first board book when he was 3 weeks old! Now at age 8, he has an amazing relationship with books, reading and exploring his imagination — and an incredible memory for reciting stories and facts.

One of my goals was to write my children's stories through my kid self's eyes. I wanted to celebrate my experiences and that of my sons, through imagination. The result has been stories that not only push stereotypical boundaries but explore diversity and fantasy through rhyme.

Thanks for being here and letting me help you make publishing your book a reality!
Kristy
